Examiner Course

Course Details

Examiner Course:

The Examiner course prepares candidates to evaluate and certify candidates in the Lifesaving Society’s training programs.

Certification as an Examiner is a 3-step process:

  1. Successfully complete an Examiner course with a current Trainer.
  2. Successfully apprentice with an Examiner Mentor on one exam in the stream in which you seek to be certified as an Examiner.
  3. Submission of the completed Examiner Training Record to the Society and the certification fee to the Society.

In the 6 hour Examiner Course, candidates will learn and demonstrate ability to effectively and appropriately evaluate candidates in their chosen stream(s) using examiner resources. Candidates will learn about planning exams, and the administration responsibilities associated with the examiner role. The examiner course emphasizes the importance of following Lifesaving Society policies and procedures in courses and exams.

The Examiner Course need only be taken once, even when seeking appointment as an Examiner in multiple streams.
